Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: Public hospital(s). Main source(s): Scripps Health Krueger Wyeth Grant Background ACS results from unstable atherosclerotic plaques. Current measures to assess risk do not consider the patient’s coronary composition. This was a case control study using prospective single-center registry patients undergoing CCTA (N=2,700) 2017–2020 association between plaque characterization and occurrence ACS. Methods cases were adjudicated independently by two cardiologists data EMR. Patients with prior CCTA, excluded. Controls selected 1:1 nearest neighbor propensity matching (R. v. 4.0.3.) based on age, sex, smoking, HTN, HLD, DM. Plaque burden stenosis features calculated commercially available artificial intelligence (AI) analysis (Figure 1). Results There 21 controls. Mean age 68, 43% women, 5% Hispanic, 29% smoking hx, 76% 81% 24% DM, CAD-RADS score 2.3, CAC 487. Median time CT for 329 days. Presence total non-calcified plaque, calcified fibro-fatty maximum diameter percentage each associated greater (Table Conclusion AI assessment characteristics shows derived development in highlights potential utility AI-driven predict

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) — Causes and Treatment

The acute coronary syndrome is one of the most common causes of death in the industrialized countries. Since with every minute that passes, more heart muscle tissue is irreversibly damaged, it requires a rapid diagnosis and therapy. Every physician must, therefore, recognize the symptoms and immediately respond in an adequate fashion. Reading this article will prepare you to recognize the sympt...

Cross-Reacting Antibacterial Auto-Antibodies Are Produced within Coronary Atherosclerotic Plaques of Acute Coronary Syndrome Patients

Coronary atherosclerosis, the main condition predisposing to acute myocardial infarction, has an inflammatory component caused by stimuli that are yet unknown. We molecularly investigated the nature of the immune response within human coronary lesion in four coronary plaques obtained by endoluminal atherectomy from four patients. We constructed phage-display libraries containing the IgG1/kappa ...

Characteristics associated with low risk of significant coronary stenosis after an episode of acute coronary syndrome

Results Three hundred and twenty-five patients were admitted for ACS. Those patients to whom coronary angiography was not performed (39 patients) and those admissions following the first one of each patient were excluded from the statistical analysis. The mean age was 62.96 ± 13.18 years (64.8 ± 12.6 for group with normal coronary arteries or non-significant lesions, 64.99 ± 13.32 for the group...
